Our STORY

Proof Positive is hospitality group focused on building food and drink concepts that bring together people for a good time.

Formed in San Francisco in 2015, Proof Positive initially began as an investment partnership who mission was to fund and operationally support strong bar and restaurant entrepreneurs. We’ve invested behind the teams that opened Horsefeather, Last Rites, Black Hammer Brewing and Hazies (formerly Rambler) restaurants, all in San Francisco.

In 2018, we jumped in on the action and began building restaurant and bar concepts ourselves. On July 4th, 2019, we opened Westwood Gold, a country music inspired saloon in the Marina District in San Francisco. Featuring San Francisco’s only permanent mechanical bull and a live music stage, we’ve brought country to the main stage in SF!

During the height of the Covid scare in 2021, we opened Wilder, a craft-cocktail and comfort food restaurant located a block away from Westwood in the Marina Triangle. With our large outdoor patio space and our ‘Tahoe-chic’ interior, Wilder is popular with young professionals looking for a delicious meal or cocktails with their ‘pack’ before a night on the town. Our espresso-tini (initially introduced at Westwood Gold) has won multiple distinctions.

In 2022, we opened Thriller Social Club, an immersive10,000 sf two-story arcade bar in SOMA. Featuring three unique bars and nearly 35 amusements, we keep things even more interesting with quarterly immersive pop-up bar in our Showman’s Lounge, Thriller is popular for its carnival-style games and its fun, laid-back atmosphere, where its food and entertainment bring us back to our childhood. It is currently going through its ‘country-era’ and features line dancing and BBQ inspired flavors on its menu.

In 2024, we opened our first Southern California location. We elevated our Westwood Gold concept from San Francisco, and debuted Westwood Coast (aka Westwood Steak) as a casual steak house and country music ultra-lounge, in the Triangle complex in Costa Mesa. Our food program is already winning recognition among the foodies in Southern California, and our regular live entertainment, line dancing and weekend entertainment are popular in Orange County.

Also in 2024, we opened Eastwood in Koreatown Los Angeles. At over 12,000 sf, we infusing “country fair” with “city flair” and developed a craft cocktail arcade bar that plays hosts to LA’s line dancers and country music lovers. With over 34 carnival style amusements, a fun bar and food program, and a large number of HD TVs throughout the space, we’ve developed a strong customer based looking for entertainment on the weekends, while partnering with a variety of fun groups to host reoccurring events throughout the week.

In November 2024, we opened a daring new Argentinian and Italian restaurant called Morella. Our restaurant combines two rich culinary traditions that share Mediterranean roots but offer distinct flavors, ingredients, and dining experiences. Featuring delicacies from Argentina as well as Italy, our chic “Miami-vibes” pink, green, and blue hued space dedicated to fine dining and cocktails, has received a lot of attention from both our neighbors and the press.

In 2025 we introduced the Bay Area’s first augmented reality darts bar and restaurant in SOMA District of San Francisco. Featuring British inspired pub food and some of the best cocktails on the south side of Market Street, Golden Eye has been a sleeper hit with nearly every customer marveling at the entertainment and food and drink combination. Our busiest days of the week are mid-week, where local businesses and Moscone Center conventioneers walk through our doors for R&R.

Each of our establishments bears its own distinct identity, yet they all share a common dedication to quality food and beverage options along with a vibrant social atmosphere.
